Come ye, come all, to the Wichita Highland Games and Celtic Festival.
This event is co-located with the Great Plains Renaissance Festival at Sedgwick County Park in Wichita Kansas,
April 22-23rd. Knocknasheega will be taking the stage at the pavilion at 11AM until noon!
Kilted, jilted, jousted, or otherwise, don’t miss out on this event! Rain or shine, mud’s just wet dirt after all!

APRIL CONTRA DANCE!

Saturday April 1st 2017 at 6:30 PM – 9:30 PM

Jim Williams will call this dance, with live music by Knocknasheega Celtic Band. It should be a good time!

We will be dancing in the cafeteria located east of the gym. Most of us park behind the building. Check out the website for a colorful map showing where to go. http://kansasfolk.org/contra/wichita.html

Lessons begin at 6:30 and the dance starts at 7. We strongly encourage new dancers to attend the lesson at 6:30. No partner is required for the entire evening.

If you’re not sure about contra, you are welcome to come observe the fun at no cost, and hopefully you’ll feel like joining in at the next dance!

Knocknasheega will be returning to Botanica Wichita for Illuminations 2016.
Come join us to enjoy the beautiful sights of Botanica with millions of lights to create a true holiday wonderland.
Celtic holiday tunes will be the featured set, but we won’t let the night go with out a bit of a hooley or two!

McPherson Festival of Cultures

kcbcorry-mac2016For more than 20 years, McPherson was home to the annual McPherson Scottish Festival featuring Highland games, Celtic music, dance and food.

In 2016, festival organizers broadened the event to include all nationalities and renamed the event McPherson Festival of Cultures.

Enhancements celebrate the community’s diverse ethnic heritage and encourage festival attendance by both locals and visitors.

The Highland games and pipe band events continue to entertain the crowds while a full slate of live music, demonstrations, market booths and food vendors embrace the world.

CORRY ACADEMY OF IRISH DANCE will be performing in multiple performances with live music provided by KNOCKNASHEEGA on Sunday only, 11am, 1pm, and 230pm.

Cowtown at Night!

KCB Cowtown at Night 2016Knocknasheega Celtic Band is returning to Old Cowtown Museum. You can catch us at the Depot arriving fresh off the train, for Cowtown at Night! We’ll start the tunes well before sunset, but we’ll keep right on going as the light grows dimmer in the west! Irish, Scottish, and Celt tunes o’plenty… 1865-1880’s attire is encouraged, but not required! (Time travel is real ya know!) Come join us!

Normal Old Cowtown Museum entry fee applies. Extended night hours all of August!

Celebrate America!

KCB CELEBRATE AMERICACome out and have some old-fashioned 4th of July fun at Old Cowtown Museum!
Fun includes a special “King and Queen of Cowtown” contest with celebrity judges,
plus a parade through town at to show off the newly completed farm road!

After the parade Knocknasheega Celtic Band will be performing an acoustic old world set in the church.
The day will end with an ice cream social in the Visitor’s Center! Regular admission rates apply, 10am-5pm.

Parade at noon, the set at conclusion of the parade!

It’s an 1870’s style event!
